Who We Are

Mitchell Felton

College Admissions Expert

Mitchell was born in Hong Kong and adopted by American expats who were working and living there. Being raised in an interracial, intercontinental family, he brings a unique perspective to college advising which allows him to connect with and relate to the students and families he works with. While living in Hong Kong, Mitchell attended Chinese International School before completing middle and high school in Fresno, California. Mitchell attended Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, where he majored in Asian Studies. While there he studied abroad at Peking University and interned in Shanghai and Beijing during his summers. Mitchell can read and write Chinese and has a conversational level of proficiency in Mandarin. He has also taken Masters level tax courses at the University of San Francisco School of Law (for fun).

Mitchell has been advising students through the college application and admissions process since 2018 and has worked closely with Greg Smith and others in the industry to help students attend their dream schools. He also worked in the Office of Admission at Pitzer as an Admission Fellow and has been working in higher education since he graduated from college, primarily at the University of San Francisco in their Development office. He has also consulted for the development offices at SMASH, Youth Tennis Advantage (YTA), and USF School of Law. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, being an active alumnus of his alma mater Pitzer College (where he sat on the alumni board), plays rugby for the San Francisco Fog, the city’s only gay and inclusive rugby team, and he also volunteers with College Track, helping underserved students with their college applications.
