Greg Smith, Ph.D

College Admissions Expert

Greg was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and earned his Master's and Ph.D. in European History at Stanford University. He has spent his entire life living and studying all around the world and speaks French, Russian, Spanish and some Italian, Portuguese and Mandarin.

Greg has more than 25 years of experience in selective university admissions after serving as Associate Director of Admissions at Stanford, in addition to sitting on Stanford's Graduate Admissions Committee, serving as a faculty member in Stanford's World Civilization program and as a research fellow also at Stanford University. He has run a major enrollment operation in the California State University system (the largest group of universities in the United States) as Associate Vice President, often working on California statewide enrollment policy and initiatives. In addition, he was Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions at other independent colleges in the state.

Greg is recognized as one of the leading experts on advising students on college admission with a very successful track record. Greg is based in San Francisco and works closely with Mitchell on many of their students. He has worked with hundreds of applicants at the highest levels of academic achievement and has a strong desire to help the next generation of leaders.
